McCain VP pick a sign of desperation

Historically, Presidential nominee's running mates have not had a major impact on elections. Voter's judgments are based upon the main figurehead-as they probably should be. The VP, once elected, holds not one-tenth the power that the President does. Oftentimes, the choice for running mate is a balancing act in an attempt to appease a nominee's shortcomings.

Identity theft a serious threat

Is our economy really that bad? Is it to the point where desperate, money scarce people actually take their bare hands and dig through dumpsters looking for rolled and tossed up bills and other pieces of paper with all of your private information on it? The answer is, unfortunately, yes.

For this newspaper, '08-'09 is going to be a big year. Our staff has changed drastically, and this is the first year we have had a new editor-in-chief in two years. There's going to be some bumps, but hopefully the fresh blood will keep things fresh and up to a certain standard.
