Later that day, Hurley's was filled with the sounds of video game metal. With SES and PVGC sponsorship, Powerglove was able to come to SUNY Potsdam. The concert began an hour late due to car troubles. Luckily, PVGC were there and provided some gaming with Rock Band, SMASH, and old-school N64. Later in the night, there were some board games that came around for entertainment.
After our camp-out in Hurley's, Powerglove arrived. Fellow gamers helped out with the unloading of the equipment. Seeing a Mario Petey Pirhana named Plant Planto foreshadowed an awesome concert to come. After setting up and eating some pizza, they started the metal. "The blend of fast-paced technical metal and nostalgic old-school video game tunes was refreshing and kickass," raves some dude who was there. With songs like "Mario Minor" and "So Sexy Robotnic," massive head banging and moshing were keeping the crowd entertained.
With their metal video game remixed music, video game inspired costumes, and free candy, it was a night to be remembered. Powerglove recently came out with a new CD titled Metal Kombat for the Mortal Man. For more PVGC sponsored events, such as our upcoming BRAWL Tournament this Sunday in the Lehman Dining Center starting at 12 p.m. ($5 suggested donation), please visit our website www.potsdam.edu/pvgc.
