On March 1 the Pendragon Theatre brought the jury room to our very own College Theatre's stage in their rendition of Twelve Angry Men by Reginald Rose. This riveting production depicts a behind-the-scenes courtroom drama. The inner workings of the jury's decision-making process are revealed to the audience in an extremely captivating way. Directed by Susan Neal, Potsdam's own Artist-in-Residence and professor, Twelve Angry Men was a hit with its one night only audience, receiving a standing ovation. A unique perspective was offered to 24 audience members, who were lucky enough to view the show from on-stage seating. The acting was superb all around, most notably Chris Clarke (Juror 10), Bob Fitzgerald (Juror 9), and Bob Pettee (Juror 3 and Potsdam Adjunct Professor). "The performance was incredibly organic and believable. As usual, Susan did a wonderful job directing an exemplary play," commented Mandy Keister, a theatre and dance student. The Pendragon Theatre truly captured our culture and judicial system in a fantastic rendition of this American classic.
If you missed this extraordinary opportunity to witness the directing expertise of Susan Neal, don't forget that Hedda Gabbler (also directed by Susan Neal and starring an amazing group of Potsdam's exceptionally talented students) opens March 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Blackbox Theatre.
