Earlier this month, the Potsdam Men's Rugby Team won the Buffalo Seven Tournament against both nationally ranked teams and division I teams. In the final round of the tournament, Potsdam Men's Rugby beat Division I University of Buffalo 2-1, scoring their final try with two seconds left in play.

To win the tournament, the Potsdam team played Hobart, South Buffalo, University of Rochester, the Buffalo Rugby Club, and the University of Buffalo. The Buffalo Rugby Club is ranked 17 in the nation and University of Buffalo is considered to be one of the best teams in the state.

President and team captain, Mike Forcier, stated, "It was a complete team win that day. Everyone played great." He also said, "This is the muddiest game I've ever seen. It slowed some of their big players down. Our speed won it for us." Junior Alex Thomson stated, "Despite the weather it was fun." Senior Rob Moberg added, "This is the first time I've been on a Potsdam winning tournament."

For the remainder of the spring semester the Men's Rugby Team has tournaments scheduled beginning on March 29 in New York City and continuing every weekend from then on.
